October 1, 2024

I hope all of you have had a good summer and fall so far. The 2025 season is just around the corner. A few items to think about pre-season.  The three domestic ski weeks, Big Sky Jan 5-9, Steamboat Feb 9-14, Telluride March 30- April 4.  The WASC in Niseko, Japan is March 9-14.  We will know more info on the WASC in mid October. The fall meeting for the WASC is the first week in October.  Registration will open pretty soon after the information becomes available(they are now say by the end of October at the latest). We want to jump on it pretty quick. The sooner we register, the more options we have for lodging.  The Euros jump on it pretty quick and try to book up all the best option as soon as they can. Teams that lag behind have less options to choose from. Let me know if you are thinking of going on the ski week to the land of the rising sun in the next few weeks.

For all members(except for those who have never been on a ski week before), just a reminder that club dues are now due. $50.00 per season.  You can pay your dues on the club website(http://fedexski.club). You have a few options to pay.  Credit card, e-check, mailing a check.  All the information is on the payment page of the club website. It would helpful if you could pay before the holiday season begins. For those of you who have already paid, many thanks.

For those of you who have never been on a ski week. Come join us. You will be hooked. It is a good addiction 😁.  If you have not registered on the NAASF website(http://naasf.com), you will need to before going on a domestic ski week.  It is also where our data base is. If you aren’t registered on it, we don’t know about you. You won’t be on the mailing list for all the club information we send out. So go register right now.  So when you decide you are coming on a ski week, let me know which one(s) you’re planning on. I will send your info on to the ski week coordinator for that week and they will keep you informed on what is going on and what you need to know.  It looks like a great season coming  up  We will be going for our 9th Division II cup this coming season. We have won it 8 out of the last 10 years. We have some pretty good racers, but we are always looking for new member to join the racing team. You don’t have to be a superstar racer to race. You just have to want to try racing . There are different racing levels for different skill level.  There is even a beginners race for those who have never raced before but want to try.  We would love to have more snowboarders and female racers both alpine and snowboarders. For those of you who don’t race(your in the majority at ski weeks) you have the whole day to cruise the slopes and the night to party away at our social events. You get to meet a lot of nice people from many airlines and if you come international ski weeks(The WASC), you meet airline skiers from all over the world. Plus you get to ski all over the world.

For those who are interested in giving back to the club and getting involved in the running of the ski club/team. We are looking for members who would like to take on the challenge of or learn how to be a ski week coordinator. It is a little work, has a few moving parts during the week, but it is a fun adventure.  We are also looking for a member who is interesting in joining the club leadership group. We are looking for a member who is interested in joining the club board of directors for the 2025 season. The board of directors will appoint a member from all members who  express an interest in the seat.   For any member who is interested in either the ski week coordinator or board seat, drop me a line about your interest and we will go from there.  To be eligible to be in either position, you must a member in good standing(meaning you are current of your dues)
